A distinctive feature of Imam al-Asi’s tafseer is the manner in which he explains the ayaat to make their meanings come alive. For instance, most translations render the expression “Ya ayyuha alladhina amanu” as “O you who believe!” Imam al-Asi translates it thus: “O You who have made a secure commitment [to Allah]!”
